Dear Jessica, If you upload a bigger image, we can click on it and see it at actual size. That said, here is what I can see so far:
The airiness feels much better. However, with the same top and bottom bar/borders for navigation, this site has the vague hint of "one size fits all" generic website. (sorry for the harsh words.)
It might help if the bars are thinner? And the top and bottom bars are slightly different? either in color, shade or thickness?
The quality and color of the photo will probably help a lot when we see it full size.
